Tadiandamol Trek

Tadiandamol is the most popular & one of the the best trekking places in Coorg and is the beginner-friendly trekking destination in Coorg, rising to about 1,748 meters, making it the highest peak in the region. Its around 40 kms from Madikeri town. The trek usually starts near Nalknad Palace and takes you through coffee plantations, dense shola forests, streams, and wide grasslands. The trail is well-defined and moderately steep in some sections, but manageable with basic fitness. The Tadiandamol trekking trail is about 7 kms one way, categorized as moderate and can be completed in one day. Camping is not allowed on Tadiandamol, hence trekkers need to return before sunset. Once you reach the top, you’re rewarded with 360-degree views of mist-covered hills and valleys, especially magical during early mornings. This trek is ideal for first-time trekkers and photographers.


Pushpagiri Trekking

Pushpagiri is one of the most challenging and adventurous treks in Coorg, located inside the Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary. Pushpagiri Trek spans about a total of 25-28 kms from the base and is usually completed over two days in leisure. Maximum altitude reached during the trek will be about 1700 meters from mean seal level. This trek is around 50 kms from Madikeri and is meant for experienced and physically fit trekkers due to its long distance and steep climbs. The trail passes through thick evergreen forests, bamboo groves, rocky paths, and high-altitude grasslands. Wildlife sightings are possible, adding to the thrill. The summit offers spectacular views of the Western Ghats stretching endlessly. Forest permissions are mandatory and it is should to be done with a guide. This trek is raw, intense, and extremely rewarding.


Nishani Betta Trek

Nishani Betta is a relatively unknown peak in the Nishani range. Galibeedu is 12 kms from Madikeri. The region is covered in thick green forest, open meadows, rare flora and fauna and wide mountain ranges. Its a 14 kms Circular trek through plantations, meadows, streams, thick forests and the Nishani peak at 1350 mts. Alternatively, this trek can also be done through a shorter route (8 Kms) to the peak and back.


 Kotebetta Trek

Kotebetta is the third-highest peak in Coorg and offers a relatively easy to moderate trekking experience. Kote betta is at 1620 m above sea level, is situated in Hattihole locality, 15 km from Madikeri region. Kote Betta, which literally means Fort Hill. It has a mythical story that locals narrate. It is believed that the famous Pandavas of Mahabharata have spent a considerable period of their exile at this place and built several stone houses that stand till date. The trail begins through scenic coffee plantations and gradually enters forest sections with gentle ascents. Near the summit, you’ll find a small Shiva temple, which adds a cultural and spiritual touch to the trek. The summit provides expansive views of surrounding hills and estates. Kotebetta is ideal for weekend trekkers, families with good fitness, and those looking for a relaxed yet scenic trek.


 Kunda Betta Trek

Kunda Betta is one of the most popular short treks near Gonicoppal South Coorg, it is especially famous for sunrise and short trekking. Located around 50 kms from Madikeri, this hill offers a perfect mix of adventure, spirituality, and scenic beauty, making it ideal for beginners and weekend travelers. The trek is relatively short but slightly steep, taking about 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the top. The trail starts from the base near a temple and passes through forest paths and rocky steps, making it easy to follow even for first-time trekkers.


Kopatty Hills Trek

Kopatty Hills is a lesser-known and peaceful trekking destination in Coorg, perfect for those who want to avoid crowds. At a distance of 10 km from Bhagamandala and 35 km from Madikeri, Kopatty Hills is a mesmerizing hill range situated at Kopatty village near Cherambane on Madikeri - Bhagamandala Road. At an altitude of 4300 feet, Kopatty is one of the tallest peaks in the Talacauvery Range adjoining to Bhagamandala town. The trek passes through coffee estates, forest trails, open meadows, and gentle slopes, making it suitable for beginners and intermediate trekkers. The route offers diverse landscapes and plenty of scenic viewpoints along the way. Since it’s not commercialized, the trek feels raw and close to nature. It’s best attempted with local guidance and is ideal for a calm, nature-focused trekking experience.
