HOW TO REACH COORG ?

How to reach Coorg by Road, Air & through train...

Reaching Coorg (Kodagu) is convenient from major Indian cities, though the hill station does not have its own airport or railway station. Travelers usually combine road travel with rail or air.

How to reach Coorg from Bangalore?

Coorg is about 250 kms away from Bangalore and can be comfortably reached in 5–7 hours. The best option is by road via Mysore on NH275, either by self-drive, taxi, or KSRTC/private buses that run frequently to Madikeri and Kushalnagar. Flights are not ideal from Bangalore, as the nearest airports are Mangalore or Kannur, which still require a long road journey.

How to reach Coorg from Mumbai?

From Mumbai, Coorg is best reached either by flight or train followed by road travel. Many travelers fly from Mumbai to Bangalore, Mangalore, or Kannur and then take a taxi or bus to Coorg, which takes about 4–6 hours depending on the airport. Alternatively, trains from Mumbai to Mangalore are available, though the journey is long (18–24 hours), after which Coorg can be reached by road in another 3–4 hours. Direct road travel from Mumbai is very long and generally not preferred unless broken with stopovers.

How to reach Coorg from Chennai?

From Chennai, the most comfortable route is by train or flight to Mysore or Bangalore, followed by a road journey. Trains from Chennai to Mysore take around 9–10 hours, and from Mysore it is a 3-hour drive to Coorg. Flights from Chennai to Bangalore or Kannur are also convenient; Kannur Airport is closer to Coorg and reduces road travel time. Traveling entirely by road from Chennai is possible but takes 10–12 hours and can be tiring.

How to reach Coorg From Hyderabad?

From Hyderabad, flying is the fastest and most preferred option. Direct flights are available from Hyderabad to Mangalore, Kannur, or Bangalore, and from there Coorg can be reached by taxi or bus within 3–6 hours. Train travel from Hyderabad to Bangalore, or Mysore, is another budget-friendly option, followed by a road journey. Driving directly from Hyderabad is a long trip of around 12–14 hours and is usually done only by experienced drivers or with overnight breaks.

Overall, Coorg is best accessed by road from nearby hubs like Mysore, Mangalore, Hassan, and Kannur.
